This is where you will
find out how to link your Artsite to Arts Downunder and it's Database.
It is not an obligation to link to ADU...but
for those wishing to link, this is how it's done.....
GO:
.....once again, we've
started out from the front or 'Home page' of ADU. Clicking on
"Link" takes you to a
page with an assortment of graphics based on the ADU Logo. Continue...
|
| |
|
 |
- ..."right click"
(or Control-click Mac) on the chosen image....
- Note: the
graphics have been prepared for either a black or a white background...but
this is not a pre-requisite.
There is no need to process the images beyond
their appearance here...they have already been optimised for size and
compression.
- Note:
clicking on the "Link"
link found on any page of ADU will bring you to this page.
|
| |
|
 |
- ...then select "Save
this Image AS...." from the drop-down list that
appears. This will open a "Save" window...
|
| |
|
 |
- ...save the image
to the folder of images you created when building your own Website...
|
| |
|
|

|
- ...now insert the saved
image into your Website and attach ADU's URL as the link.
This is the URL:
http://www.artsdownunder.com
...open your WYSIWYG
Web-page building application (eg. Frontpage) and place your cursor
on the spot on your Web-page where you've decided the ADU link
should be...then follow your application's instructions for inserting
images. Up-load to your Server...refresh your view so that changes appear...check
the results.
- Note:
WYSIWYG ("wizz-ee-wig")
is an acronym...a word made from initials...it stands for "What
you see is
what you get".
Some applications are indirect...things don't go where you want them
to without extra skills on your behalf. A WYSIWYG application
lets you see exactly how your efforts will look as you insert and adjust
the layout or page design. But you may
still find that different Computers, Web Browsers, or screen resolutions
cause things to be different...be aware of this and check your pages
on a variety of computers and operating systems...testing and compromising
are necessities.
|
| |
|
 |
- Note:
you can enliven your own website by adding logos
and links from any other site you relate to or wish to give credit,
just by using these same steps...it isn't necessary for the other site
to offer an optimised graphic link...if you do, maintain the quality
of the original.
Consider them as "stickers" that do something.
- Note:
LOGO should be pronounced "log-" as in logarithm.
A "logo" is a sign, a graphic symbol or character representing
a word or a meaning...it is best thought of as an entities identification
stamp...hence "brand" or signature name.
Royalty and Nations, cities, and towns have their crests and Holy symbols...business
and the everyday has the logo. (Check "logograph" in a Dictionary).
