The
front page of ADU has lists of the most recently submitted or
changed records. The entries are not in alphabetical order...but
chronological. The one at the top is
the most recently submitted or modified record ... this allows records
to remain in immediate view until subsequent submissions eventually
push them off the page.
"Visitors Book" has only five slots for this purpose
on the Home page, but a user can click on the "Visitors Book"
link on any page to go to a larger list of recent entries. Once "in"
the Visitors Book pages you can search deeper by selecting
"have a look through the book". Some contributors have
suggested that the title of this "book" should be altered
to "Visitors and Traveler's Book"...
GO:
......to start ANY
KIND of SUBMISSION
to
ADU,
click on the
"Submit ADU" link on any
page. In this "Visitors Book" tutorial,
we've done so on the front or 'Home page' of the site. This takes
you to........
|
| |
|
 |
- ....the
"Submission Selection page". Here you select the
KIND of submission that you want to make.
Now click on "SUBMIT TO THE VISITORS BOOK"
link. This takes you to.....
- Note:
the
ADU
Visitors Book is for the shorter comment or QUICK
message to anyone you know might be watching the
site, or to everyone.
- Note:
the most recently submitted or modified
of all these records appear on the front page of ADU.
- Note:
you CANNOT EDIT A SUBMISSION to "Visitors Book" once
you have clicked the "Thank You" button.
So type in your message carefully and check it..."proof
read" it before clicking the final button.
|
| |
|
 |
- ....the
"Submit to Visitors Book" page, where you submit your
news and contact...sharings, advice, travel hints (read "About
ADU" for an introduction). Read the simple
message already in the text box, then select the box and CLEAR it
by hitting the Delete key...
- Note:
although
you can copy and paste from your own management folder as is suggested
for all the other submission types within ADU, the "Visitors book"
is suited to unencumbered direct
typing of small commentaries of single paragraph limit.
Aim just to fill the text field provided...discipline your style...you're
paying for this time AND the coffee...so budget.
- Hint:
try memorising ADU's URL (or the "Visitors
Book" URL to go straight to the submission page)...it's logical...
These are the URLs:
*Visitors Book
http://www.artsdownunder.com/aduhtml/visitorsbk.htm
* The Arts Downunder:
(the easiest to remember, and it works
with or without .au at the end)...
http://www.artsdownunder.com
- Hint:
when you're sitting in an Internet Café in some distant place,
open your Web Browser and type the appropriate URL into the Browser
Address Bar from memory...click enter...ADU
appears...click "Visitors Book" and take it from there.
|
| |
|
 |
- ...now
the text box is empty and selected, ready for you to type in your contact.
When finished TAB to the next two text boxes...
- Note:
if
at any time an "ERROR" page appears, hit Your Browser's
"Back" button and check your entry...if the error still
persists, hit the Browser "Refresh" button or forget
the submission and start from scratch.
- Hint:
in order to be available to "searchers and browsers",
contributors to "MUCH ADU" and "Visitors Book" must
think
in terms of how easy it should be for
contributions to be found. You must think
the same way as you do when searching ADU for Arts Individuals,
Arts Businesses, and Arts Events...the "narrowing
search" method, but in reverse. Give your work a specific
title...a subject. You may like to select a set of related words to
act in the same way as the Main and
Sub-category lists for submissions. Work
such words into a title. Think
logically.
|
| |
|
 |
- ...and
add your name and location (not essential but helpful)...the
book automatically adds the date...
- check
what you've written, because there is no chance to make a change after
you've clicked the "thank you" button.
- Hint:
go through the other tutorials devoted to
the submission of information...you will find some extra details.
|
| |
|
 |
-
Now you can return to the ADU "Home" page by clicking "The
Arts Downunder" image at the bottom of the page.
|
| |
|
 |
- ...the
"Home" page appears. Scroll down the page to the list
heading "Visitors Book: the most recent contributions"
Here you find your submission's first line. It is at the top of the
list and it is underlined...it is a link to the Visitors Book pages.
Click on it and...
|
| |
|
 |
- ...the
"Visitors Book" page appears. This has your submission
prominently displayed...ready to read...
